OCI After-School Program provides quality youth development opportunities to school-age children directly after school. Research shows that children who participate in quality after-school programs have higher school attendance and academic achievement, and are less likely to be involved in risky behaviors during the after-school hours.

When children enter the OCI after School program, a whole other world of imagination and growth opens up to them. In addition to supplementing what they have learned in school, they receive assistance with their homework from certified NYS teachers, they participate in interactive learning models that engage critical thinking skills, and have the opportunity to interact with their peers in friendly environment that enhances their development, growth and self-confidence. How great would it be to come home and know that your child’s homework is complete, he/she has received test preparation, if applicable and has enjoyed recreational activities with his/her peers?

Our curriculum is based on a program model that focuses on learning enhancement, health and recreation, and building competence and confidence in children. The program runs every regular school day, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., in a supervised and structured environment, providing a safe after school alternative for children. The staff-to-student ratio is 1:10 and the site capacity can range from 25 to as many 200 children.
